A Trail Evanescent

It was solitude that found them,

Nurtured them,

Brought them closer,

Called them friend.

Something nothing else,

Could bring about.

So deep a bond,

Could ravage the Earth.

And so it was,

As she caressed his hands,

And took him with her.

They stayed up all night,

Her comforting gaze wrapping him,

In warmth and joy.

Over the bridge and beyond the gate,

They kept going.

Till none could find them,

Till none could pursue,

Their trail evanescent,

Till they left everything.
